Kuciste is a small village in the southwest of the peninsula of Peljesac, located about 5 kilometers from Orebic, overlooking the town of Korcula and and the village of Zrnovska Banja accross the sea over Peljesac channel. Because of its specific location in Peljesac channel, which has plenty of strong but pleasant west winds during summer ("Maestral" and "Tramuntana"), Kuciste is together with Viganj one of favorite destinations for sailors and windsurfers perhaps the entire Croatian Adriatic. If you like to enjoy the full power of the wind and the sea, then Kuciste the right place for you and we can definitely recommend it, of course with Viganj which is located just a few miles west, also in Peljesac channel. In Kuciste you will find numerous apartments and rooms in private accommodation, a hotel, camping, as well as a number of services related to the above mentioned sailing and windsurfing. Sailing school, windsurfing school, equipment rental, etc. will help you to feel the magic of this beautiful area. The beaches are sandy and pebble so that everyone can find something for themselves. Shops, restaurants and proximity to the tourist center of Orebic will allow you access to everything needed.
It is also possible to rent a small boat with which without problem you will be able to explore beautiful surrounding waters, with many small islands and rich marine life. Also we recommend you to try scuba diving, snorkeling because rich waters of Peljesac peninsula are extremely attractive for this type of activity. As far as cultural sites, housing is known for late renaissance architecture, and the most remarkable building in the are is a baroque complex built by shipowner family Lazarević, along which there is a late baroque church of S. Trinity.
To the visitors we also suggest trips to neighboring islands such as Korcula, Mljet and Lastovo, which you can easily visit from the nearby port of Orebic, or from the town of Korcula, from where ferries run regularly to Orebic (approximately every half hour during the tourist season). There are several ways to come in Kuciste: by car across the entire peninsula of Peljesac (this is quite a long way, but we recommend it to those who have the time because of exceptional beauty and preserved nature along the road), and other options include car ferry that costs less, is more expensive but also nice because experiencing the beauty of the peninsula for the first time from the sea is an unforgettable experience.
